An Orrington man had to be removed from his vehicle using the jaws of life Sunday evening after crashing into a tree.
The accident occurred on Snows Corner Road in Orrington.
Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department says the truck swerved over an embankment and went airborne before striking into a large maple tree.
48-year old David Ireland was the only one in the truck. He was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor where we’re told he’s listed in fair condition as of Monday afternoon.
Eugene Fizell of the Sheriff’s Department said speed was a factor in the crash and there was ice on the road. A blood alcohol test was also ordered.
Orrington fire and rescue also responded to the accident.
And, the Brewer Fire Department assisted with their Jaws of Life equipment.
