MOFGA May Set Up Chapter In Penobscot County

The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association wants a presence in Penobscot County.

To test community interest in a local chapter, the group is hosting a “Stone Soup Social”.┬áMembers are invited to bring chopped vegetables to add to a huge pot of soup.

“It’s just gathering enough interested people together to make sure it’s going to be a viable option and find out what people are interested in having for educational and social activities around it,” says Kate Garland, Horticulturist with UMaine Extension.

The Stone Soup Social is Saturday afternoon at the Bangor Grange at 1192 Ohio Street. It starts at 1:00pm and the food will be served at 2:30.
