It looks like it’ll be a happy new year for the folks trying to build a new food pantry in Fairfield.
Last month we told you about an anonymous donor who pledged to match up to $25,000.
Earlier this week, another anonymous donor stepped up to pledge another $25,000.
The money will go to renovating a building behind the town office to convert that into the new Fairfield Interfaith Food Pantry.
They’ve now raised more than $113,000.
“We’re so excited. Nancy has always said that this pantry has been blessed. it always has from day one. It’s true. It keeps on going and i don’t know, thank you, thank everybody for their hard work and it’s coming together,” said Louella Bickford, Pantry Volunteer.
The Fairfield VFW has also offered to pay for the trusses on the roof for the food pantry that they hope will be up and running this summer.
