Cold Temperatures Over The Next Few Days & Watching Another Snow Storm

Temperatures will cool off tonight behind the cold front that is currently sweeping through the area. All locations will fall below 0 with mostly clear skies allowing things to cool off. Winds will be from the northwest at around 5-10 mph. Tuesday will stay very cold with highs in the single digits and low teens. We’ll have partly cloudy skies to start then see increasing clouds as a weak low pressure system moves through the area. We have the chance for a few snow showers in the overnight hours Tuesday into Wednesday as the low moves through. Lows fall below zero in most locations. . If you have outdoor plans please be prepared to dress extremely warm and keep your skin covered. Temperatures like this become dangerous. Also, if you are able, it might be nice to check on neighbors and the elderly this week. Overall things will be quite cold. Make sure you have plenty of fuel too.

 

For the start of 2014 we’ll see mostly cloudy skies that will clear up as we head into Wednesday afternoon. Highs will be cold in the single digits and teens mostly. (Wednesday night temps will drop after the second cold front passes the region. Overnight lows will be extremely cold ranging from 32 to 6 below zero.

 

Thursday we’ll see temps ranging from 9 below to 6 above. We’ll see increasing clouds on Thursday afternoon and what looks like it could be another sizeable snowstorm move into the area for Thursday night into Friday as a low pressure system approaches the area. Don’t buy the milk yet but some models are putting out lots of snow accumulation into Friday morning. It will stay extremely cold Thursday night. By Friday, highs will be in the single digits and will fall to below zero in some spots. It is looking like we’ll start out with snow that will taper off into the afternoon.  Saturday stays cold with highs in the single digits and teens with mostly sunny skies.

 

Tonight: Lows -14° to 0° with mostly clear skies.

 

Tuesday: Highs -1° to 14° with partly sunny skies to start and increasing clouds in the afternoon. A few snow showers in the evening.

 

Wednesday: Highs 6° – 21° with mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows plummet.

 

Thursday: Highs -9° to 6° with partly sunny skies to start and increasing clouds. Snow moves in during the evening.

 

Friday: Highs -2° to 8° with some snow to start then clearing skies in the afternoon.

 

Saturday: Highs 5° – 17° with mostly sunny skies.
