School Bus Crash in Newburgh; No Kids on Board

A school bus crash in Newburgh Friday afternoon  sent two people to the hospital.

State police say the bus went off Kennebec Road, near Chapman Road, just after its last stop to drop off students, so no kids were on board.

We’re told the roads were slick when the bus spun around, turned into a ditch and hit an embankment.

Police say two women, a driver and a monitor, were on the bus.

“Nobody was hurt very badly, there were no kids on the bus, you know, the bus has minor damage, so really I don’t think anyone will be too worse for the wear,” said Maine State Police Sgt. Sean Hashey.

Both were taken to the hospital – one with minor injures and the other as a precaution.

The area is closed to traffic right now and the crash is under investigation.
