Fairfield Police Set For “Cops Care For Kids” Night

Ordinarily it’s makes people a little nervous to see the police knocking at their door. But tomorrow night in Fairfield the police will be bearing gifts.

It’s all part of the “Cops Caring for Kids” program that started seven years ago.

Members of the Fairfield Police Department will be dropping off a coloring book and two additional presents to roughly 200 kids.

“We’ll be dressed in full uniform. All the officers come in and volunteer their own time. We wear our Santa hats and we’ll go knock on the door and deliver gifts,” said Sgt. Paul St. Amand.

This year they got an anonymous $500 donation to help buy the gifts. They’ll head-out tomorrow night at 5:00.
