From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Skies will continue to brighten up this afternoon as drier air moves into the region. Temperatures will warm to the upper teens to mid-20s for highs this afternoon. Skies will start out partly cloudy tonight followed by increasing clouds late as a weak disturbance approaches from the west. Nighttime lows will range from the single numbers to near 10° north and teens elsewhere.

Thursday will be dry with some morning clouds followed by afternoon sunshine as a weak disturbance moves through the area. A cold front is forecast to cross the state during the afternoon. The front doesn’t have much moisture with it so it’s expected to come through dry. The front will stall out near the coast Thursday night. A weak area of low pressure is forecast to ride along the stalled front on Friday bringing some light snow to northern areas with a mix of snow, sleet and possibly rain further south towards the coast.  Another storm will head our way on Friday and could bring snow to northern areas with mix and possibly rain elsewhere. High pressure will build in and give us a break in the action for Saturday. Another area of low pressure will approach from the southwest on Sunday. At the same time, high pressure will be banked to our north supplying us with a chilly northeast wind. With the storm approaching the area and cold air remaining in place, the ingredients will be in place for a potential ice storm over parts of the state on Sunday. Keep in mind, it’s still several days away and as we always say with regard to the long range forecast, things can and will likely change a bit but it’s definitely something worth keeping an eye on.

Rest of Today: brightening skies. Highs between 18°-26°. North/northwest wind 10-15 MPH.

Tonight: partly cloudy skies to start then increasing clouds late. Lows between 4°-18°, coldest north. Winds will become southwest 5-10 MPH.

Thursday: mostly cloudy during the morning then brightening skies during the afternoon. Milder with highs between 23°-33°. Southwest wind 5-10 MPH.

Friday: mostly cloudy with snow developing north, mix and possibly rain elsewhere. Highs in the 20s to near 30° north and 30s to near 40° elsewhere.

Saturday: mostly cloudy with scattered snow showers during the afternoon. Highs in the 20s to near 30°.

Sunday: mostly cloudy with snow for northern areas and an icy mix possible elsewhere. Highs in the mid-20s to mid-30s.
