Update: Thought To Be Armed and Dangerous Man Taken Into Custody

A man believed to be armed and dangerous was captured by police early Monday morning in Bangor.

State police believe 42-year-old Jason Trickett stole a Jeep, a loaded .45 caliber handgun and several hundred dollars from Machiasport.

Police say he was staying at a couple’s house Saturday night.

Sunday morning, the couple reported the items missing.

Trickett was found not guilty in September of manslaughter in the stabbing death of a Bangor man in 2012.

Police believed Trickett was heading to Bangor to buy drugs, based on his past drug history.

We’re told police were notified by another motorist who recognized the Jeep from news reports, at a McDonalds on Broadway in Bangor. Trickett was a passenger, according to Bangor police. He was taken into custody around 5:30 a.m. Monday after officers conducted a traffic stop.

Bangor police say 34-year old Joshua White of Bangor was driving the Jeep. He was arrested and charged with operating after suspension.
