From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Low pressure is forecast to pass south of the area today. It will be close enough to graze us with some cloudiness especially along the coast and a few snow showers along the coast as well, while the rest of the state sees a dry day with some breaks of sunshine possible. Snow showers along the coast could leave a coating in spots. Temperatures will be seasonable with highs in the upper 20s to mid-30s this afternoon. Any snow showers will move out this evening followed by a dry night under partly to mostly cloudy skies. It’ll be cold tonight with lows dropping to the mid-single numbers to mid-teens from north to south.

The rest of the week looks pretty quiet. A cold front will cross the state Wednesday followed by a blast of arctic air for Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will go from highs in the 20s to around 30° Wednesday to the single numbers north and teens to near 20° elsewhere on Thursday and teens to near 20° Friday. Nighttime lows will range from -10° to +10° on average for Wednesday and Thursday nights. Another cold front is forecast to move through on Friday, bringing us a reinforcing shot of cold air for Saturday.

We’ll be keeping an eye on a potential significant snowstorm for Saturday night into Sunday. Computer models bring strong low pressure just southeast of Massachusetts up towards Nova Scotia which would give us a moderate to heavy snowfall in most locations with some mixed precipitation possible along the coast. Early estimates would suggest  6”+ possible over inland locations while mixed precipitation keeps amounts less than 6” along the coast. It’s still several days away and there is plenty of time for things to change so we’ll keep you posted as we get closer.

Rest of Today: variably cloudy. Scattered snow showers are possible along the coastline and southern areas this afternoon. Highs between 28°-37°. West/northwest wind around 10 MPH.

Tonight: early snow showers possible along the coast then partly to mostly cloudy. Lows between 4°-16°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH to west.

Wednesday: variably cloudy with a few snow showers possible. Highs between 22°-32°. West/northwest wind 5-15 MPH.

Thursday: mix of sun and clouds. Very cold with highs between 7°-19°, coldest north.

Friday: mostly cloudy. Snow showers possible mainly north. Highs in the teens to around 20°.

Saturday: increasing clouds with snow showers possible later in the day. Cold with highs in the teens to low 20s.
