More than a hundred miles of natural gas pipeline has been installed in the Kennebec valley.
That announcement came Tuesday by Summit Natural Gas.
The company’s CEO said its first customers will be hooked up to gas service this month.
Summit will serve businesses and homes across the region.
“The gas pipeline today is 99% complete. More importantly we’ll be turning that gas on in the very near future. But today I’d also like to announce that we have set aside $110 million for infrastructure work in the state of Maine in 2014,” said Mike Earnest, President & CEO, Summit Utilities.
Governor LePage was honored by summit for his efforts to help make the natural gas project happen.
