From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

A couple areas of low pressure will impact our forecast today. One passing to our north and a second one passing just to our south. These will bring us a quick shot of precipitation today, most of which will fall as snow. Periods of snow will continue this afternoon, creating some slippery driving conditions in many spots during the afternoon and evening hours. Most areas will see accumulations of an inch or two by the evening commute. Coastal areas will likely see the snow mix with sleet, freezing rain and maybe even plain rain this afternoon and evening which will limit accumulations to an inch or less along the coast. Temperatures will warm to the mid-20s to mid-30s from north to south across the state. Snow and mix will wind down early tonight as low pressure moves away from the region. By the time everything tapers off, we could see an additional inch or two in spots so total snow accumulations for the storm will range from 1” or less along the coast and 1”-3” elsewhere with a few 4” amounts over the northern half of the state. Skies will begin to clear out later tonight as drier air moves in behind the departing storm.

A wave of low pressure is forecast to pass well south of the area on Tuesday. It will be close enough to graze us with a little cloudiness especially along the coast and possibly a few snow showers along the coast as well but otherwise we’ll see a brighter and drier day for most spots Tuesday. Temperatures will be seasonable with highs in the mid-20s to mid-30s Tuesday afternoon.

The rest of the week looks pretty quiet. A cold front will cross the state Wednesday followed by a blast of arctic air for Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will go from highs in the 20s to around 30° Wednesday to the single numbers north and teens to near 20° elsewhere on Thursday and Friday.

Rest of Today: periods of snow. Snow may mix with sleet and freezing rain along the immediate coast later this afternoon. Accumulations of an inch or two possible by evening. Highs between 23°-37°. East/southeast wind around 10 MPH.

Tonight: snow and mix ending early then becoming partly cloudy late. An additional inch or two of accumulation is possible away from the coastline. Lows between 20°-31°. Winds will become west 5-10 MPH.

Tuesday: variably cloudy. A few snow showers are possible along the coastline. Highs between 25°-37°. Northwest wind around 10 MPH.

Wednesday: variably cloudy with a few snow showers possible. Highs between 19°-32°.

Thursday: partly sunny. Very cold with highs between 4°-20°, coldest north.

Friday: mostly sunny during the morning then becoming partly sunny. Highs near 10° north, teens to near 20° elsewhere.
