Arrest Made in Orono Stabbing

A 21-year old Orono man is behind bars, charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing in Orono.

Dorian Guerin is also facing two elevated aggravated assault charges.

Police were called to a rooming house on Park Street Sunday afternoon.

The report came in as a fight and stabbing in progress.

“Our officers arrived on scene with Old Town,” says Orono Police Chief Josh Ewing. “They were able to separate the two people. Medical attention was provided. ”

Chief Ewing says a knife was used in the stabbing.

The victim is described as a 50-year old man. His name is not being released at this time. His injuries are described as life threatening.

Guerin was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Chief Ewing says Guerin was cut on his hand. He was taken from the hospital to the Penobscot County jail.

He is due in court Monday afternoon.
