Police say they received a call for a fight taking place inside a residence on Park Street early Sunday afternoon.

They say the residence is a “rooming house” where they haven’t had problems like this before.

“Our officers arrived on scene with Old Town. They were able to separate the two people. Medical attention was provided. Both people are at the hospital right now. One with very serious stab wounds and injuries,” said Orono Police Chief Josh Ewing.

Police say the person with life threatening injuries is a 50-year-old male.

They say the other man, in his early 20s, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Orono Police say they have included State Police in the investigation because of the seriousness of the older victim’s injuries.

They are still investigating the details of the dispute.
