From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Any lingering showers over eastern Maine will come to an end early this afternoon as the cold front and associated area of low pressure move off to our south and east. Colder and drier air will begin to move into the state this afternoon which will dry us out and brighten the skies a bit from north to south. The best chance for sunshine will be over the northern half of the state with more clouds sticking around elsewhere. The departing cold front is expected to stall out just south of the state during the night tonight. Another wave of low pressure will ride along the front and bring us the chance for a few snow showers tonight mainly for areas south of Dover-Foxcroft and Lincoln. There may be some steadier light snow along the immediate coastline down through southern areas where up to 1” of accumulation is possible by daybreak. Temperatures will be colder tonight with lows bottoming out in the upper teens to near 20° north and low to mid-20s elsewhere.

Colder weather will move in this weekend. Saturday will start with some clouds and a few lingering snow showers followed by brightening skies during the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the mid-20s to mid-30s for afternoon highs. High pressure will build in and dominate our weather on Sunday, giving us lots of sunshine. Despite the sunshine, temperatures will be well below average with highs mainly in the 20s Sunday afternoon. High pressure will slide to our east late Sunday night and early Monday morning, allowing our next storm to move into the region. A couple areas of low pressure, one over the Great Lakes and the other just south of New England, will bring us a some snow and mixed precipitation on Monday. It’s still early but it looks like we could see a couple of inches of snow over the northern half of the state Monday. There is still plenty of time to fine tune that part of the forecast so stay tuned for details.
