Man Killed After Being Pinned Between Garage & Truck

Updated 4 months ago

A man from Otis was killed yesterday while delivering wood pellets in Gouldsboro.

Police Chief Glenn Grant says 57-year old Roland Coffin was delivering to a home on Crowley Island Road in the village of Corea around 2:15 Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Grant says the homeowner wanted to transfer the pellets into his pick-up truck with Coffin behind the pickup, directing the homeowner on how to position it.

Grant says the pickup lurched backwards as Coffin was dropping the tailgate, pinning him to the garage.

The accident is still under investigation.  No charges have been filed.
