If you’re looking for a unique holiday gift, the Hammond Street Senior Center in Bangor has more than 250 of them.

Their annual silent auction gift basket fundraiser is under way.

More than 100 businesses have donated gift certificates and other items.

You’ll find everything from trips, books, movies and boat rides, to duct tape and sardines.

“Members and guests and the community can come in and place a silent auction bid in front of any of these 254 baskets,” explains Kathy Bernier, Executive Director of the Hammond Street Senior Center. “It ends on Friday, we start shutting down around 1 o’clock.”

This Thursday, folks are invited to a late night bidding party.

It goes from 4:30 TO 7:30 p.m. at the Hammond Street Senior Center and includes complimentary wine, soft drinks and other treats.

There’s also a chance to win $100 cash.
