Fatal Accident Sunday Morning on 95SB in T2R9

A man is dead after losing control of his car Sunday morning on Interstate 95 South Bound.

State Police say around 9am the driver, Norman Ayotte, 55, of Biddeford lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the median around mile marker 233 in T2R9 .

They say it was snowing and Ayotte was driving too fast for the conditions.

Officials say Ayotte was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. They say he was pronounced dead on the scene.

State Police say a  passenger in Ayotte’s car received only minor injuries and was transported to Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln.

State Police responded to the scene along with Fire & Rescue crews  from Lincoln and East Millinocket.
