People came together Saturday to support a Carmel family after a tragedy.
Last month, police say a toddler was accidentally shot in the neck in Capehart.
Wayne and Joline Scovil are now caring for their grandchildren, including that toddler.
The family tells TV5 the child now needs to use a wheelchair.
Friend, Kathy Picken, organized a Spaghetti dinner and auction to raise money the family who will need for renovations to their home.
“This is very overwhelming, very overwhelming. I didn’t expect so many people to come out and help. I just have a lot of gratitude towards them, a lot of gratefulness. It’s going to be a long road ahead,” said Joline Scovil.
If you’d like to donate to the family, you can contact Kathy Picken on facebook.
