Skowhegan Community Coming Together to Help Neighbors Have a Happy Thanksgiving

Members of the Skowhegan community are coming together to make sure all their neighbors have a happy Thanksgiving.

Monday morning at the Skowhegan Federated Church, folks put the finishing touches on 140 Thanksgiving baskets.

Students at Skowhegan Middle School and High School collected more than a 1,000 food items for the baskets.

Local businesses and folks from the community chipped in too.

“It’s great. It’s a lot of fun. All the kids like putting everything together. We had probably 15-20 kids and 10 adults here this morning, and it just was crazy town,” said Leslie Stonehocker, Skowhegan Federated Church.

The baskets will be picked up Tuesday, just in time for Thanksgiving.
