POLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine officials are designating the town of Poland as “business friendly.”
Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner George Gervais is presenting Poland with its “certified business friendly” community certificate and road signs on Monday.
Communities are evaluated on things like customer service, licensing and permitting, business involvement and collaboration.
The department says Poland has significantly improved its infrastructure and businesses get quick responses for licenses and permits.
So far, 25 towns and cities have been named “business friendly” by the state, including Belfast and South Portland.
