Thanksgiving Meals Being Distributed Across Maine

Updated 11 months ago

Over one thousand Thanksgiving meals are being distributed across the state of Maine to families in need.

That’s all thanks to Food and Medicine of Brewer.

The group, along with over 250 volunteers, have been spending the past few months putting together the meals.

Those meals include a turkey from Manna Ministries, as well as fresh produce from local farms.

Volunteer Coordinator, Doug Cushman said, “The first Friday morning, was the first morning we put food out, and I was here, and we put out over 300 meals.”

“I’ve been completely blown away by the impact that we’re able to make but also the sense of community that’s found in the people that come together,” said Erin Sweeney, the Agriculture Organizer.

200 of the meals put together by Food and Medicine are staying in the Greater Bangor area.

They will spend the next couple of days connecting with the families receiving the meals.
