Updated 11 months ago

Bangor Police Department has been collecting food for those in need.

However, it isn’t food for just anyone.

The department has teamed up with Eastern Area Agency on Aging to collect pet food.

Saturday they set up outside of Shaws on Main Street to take cat and dog food donations.

The donations are going to the Furry Friends Food Bank.

Cathy Rumsey, Bangor PD Sargent said, “I think so far the overwhelming response has been that they have their own pets and they would be just devastated if they had to lose their pets for financial reasons and they just want to help.”

Terry Hart of Hampden said, “I think for elderly people, their pets are their lives. So if we can help a little bit, that’s great.”

Bangor PD sayid that they quickly filled up their car, and started to pack food into their transport van.
