Wardens say a pair of illegal hunters crashed their car, after refusing to pull over this weekend.
Sgt. John MacDonald tells us the incident happened on Saturday night when two wardens witnessed a night hunting violation in Township 3 – Indian Purchase.
He says, when they tried to initiate a traffic stop, the driver sped away.
The hunters led them on a two mile chase that ended when their car left the road and crashed.
Both the driver and passenger were ejected.
They were taken by ambulance to Millinocket Regional Hospital.
The driver was treated and released.
The passenger was transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
MacDonald tells us the incident is still under investigation and charges are pending.
