Affidavit Released in Augusta Murder

We’re learning more information about the death of a young woman in Augusta.

Police say Jillian Jones, 24, was stabbed to death Wednesday night by her boyfriend.

Her body was found in the bathroom of an apartment on Crosby Street in Augusta.

The accused killer, Justin Pillsbury, 38, was in court Monday morning.

According to a police affidavit, Pillsbury told a friend he killed Jones because he caught her on the phone with another man. Pillsbury reportedly said he blacked out.

The affidavit states that Pillsbury then tried to kill himself, but the knife was dull. A friend reportedly sharpened the knife for him, and Pillsbury cut himself.

Pillsbury reportedly told the friend to leave and not call police. According to the affidavit, the friend left, told someone else what happened, and called 911.

Neighbors reportedly told police they heard arguing coming from the apartment and heard Jones scream. A neighbor also told police she saw Jones get pushed up against the window of the door.

The medical examiner says Jones had three stab wounds.

According to the affidavit, Pillsbury confessed to stabbing and killing Jones.
