A Waterville woman was arrested Monday night after reportedly stabbing a 15-year-old girl with a pocket knife. The incident happened Wednesday night.

Police say Linsey Soucy, 19, of Waterville was arrested after slashing the girl on the forehead during a fight on Libby Court. Police are not releasing the name of the victim since she’s a minor but the girl was taken to a local hospital and received several stitches.

Police say the knife was found later that night in Soucy’s home and that the two had a history.

“There certainly had been some bad blood in the past and they showed up on Libby Court that night to have some sort of a confrontation or interaction which did turn into a fight,” said Deputy Waterville Police Chief Charles Rumsey. “That culminated unfortunately in the production of the knife used to stab the minor.”

Soucy is charged with aggravated assault, a Class B felony, and faces up to 15 years in prison.

She’s due in court next month.
