Accident in Holden Shuts Down Morning Travel on Route 1A

Route 1A in Holden was shut down for about an hour Thursday because of an accident that sent two people to a hospital.

A van ran into a car around 9:30am.

Police say a woman was driving the van on Route 1A when a man in a sedan pulled out of Copeland Hill Road and the two vehicles collided.

“It’s always busy, we see literally thousands of cars through this road at anytime of the day, especially during the day, lots of cars in both directions, and we did have to close the road for awhile,” said Holden Police Chief Chris Greeley.

The driver of the sedan and his passenger were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
