Variably Cloudy Today, Colder Tuesday

From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Skies will average partly to mostly cloudy for the afternoon with more clouds moving in late. Temperatures will be a bit below average today with highs topping off in the mid-30s to low 40s north and low to mid-40s elsewhere. West/northwest winds will be gusty with gusts to 25-30 MPH possible. A cold front will cross the state tonight bringing us numerous snow showers. As a result, we could see a coating of snow in some spots during the nighttime/early morning hours. Lows will drop to the upper teens and mid-20s from north to south.

Colder air will move in behind the departing cold front Tuesday with temperatures averaging around 10° colder than what we see today. We’ll see variably cloudy skies Tuesday with temperatures in the upper 20s to mid-30s for highs. It’ll feel even colder than that though with the west/northwest breeze factored in. West/northwest winds could gust to 25 MPH at times on Tuesday which will give us wind chill factors in the teens and 20s throughout the day. We could see some flurries or snow showers up north as well, with an upper level disturbance forecast to cross the state Tuesday afternoon. Another upper level disturbance is forecast to pass to our north on Wednesday and will bring us a few clouds later in the morning and during the afternoon but otherwise Wednesday looks quiet and cold. Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid-20s to mid-30s. High pressure will build in for the end of the week giving us sunshine and milder, more seasonable temperatures for Thursday and Friday.

Rest of Today: partly to mostly cloudy. A flurry possible up north. Highs between 36°-46°. Northwest wind 5-15 MPH  with gusts to 25-30 MPH possible, becoming west.

Tonight: mostly cloudy with snow showers likely. A coating of snow possible. Cold with lows between 18°-28°. Winds will become northwest around 10 MPH.
Tuesday: partly to mostly cloudy, most clouds north. A flurry possible up north. Colder with highs between 28°-38°. West wind 10-15 MPH.

Wednesday: increasing clouds. Cold with highs between 26°-36°.

Thursday and Friday: mostly sunny. Highs in the 40s to near 50°.
