From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Low pressure will pull a cold front through the state this afternoon accompanied by some light to moderate showers. As the front moves east of the state during the afternoon, the showers will end from west to east. Drier air moving in behind the front may allow for some breaks in the clouds before sunset. The area of low pressure will also pull milder air northward with temperatures topping off in the 50s to near 60° in most cities and towns. South/southwesterly winds will be gusty today, possibly gusting to 30-40 MPH especially along the coast during the morning and early afternoon hours. Skies will clear out tonight and northwest winds will usher colder air back into the region with lows temperatures dropping to the mid-20s to low 30s for nighttime lows.

Drier and cooler weather will return for the end of the week. An upper level disturbance is forecast to cross New England on Friday and will produce some cloudiness for us with the thicker cloud cover over northern areas and brighter conditions expected elsewhere. Temperatures will be back to the 30s and 40s for Friday. Saturday looks good as high pressure builds into the area. We’ll see plenty of sunshine in the morning with a few clouds arriving during the afternoon. Low pressure will push a cold front across the state on Sunday bringing us some more showers followed by a shot of colder weather for Monday.

Rest of Today: mostly cloudy with showers likely. Showers will taper off mid-late afternoon or so. Mild with highs between 49°-59°. South/southwest winds will become west 8-15 MPH with gusts to 30-40 MPH possible especially along the coast.

Tonight: becoming clear to partly cloudy. Colder. Lows between 25°-33°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH.

Friday: variably cloudy, most clouds north. Breezy and cooler. Highs between 37°-45°. Northwest wind 10-15 MPH.

Saturday: sunny and chilly. Few clouds moving in during the afternoon. Highs between 37°-45°.

Sunday: mostly cloudy with mixed rain/snow showers possible north and rain showers possible elsewhere. Highs near 40° north, 40s to near 50° elsewhere.

Monday: increasing clouds. Afternoon rain and snow showers possible. Highs between 35°-45°.
