Police arrested four people in connection with an early morning burglary in Augusta Wednesday.

Officers responded to a call on Western Avenue where they found that the Maine Smoke Shop had been broken into.

On scene, police arrested Scott Beckim, 32, and Kelly Strout, 31, both of Augusta.

They face burglary and theft charges.

Police executed a search warrant at their apartment a few hours later.

Inside they found Scott Coogan, 28, and Gladys Fowler, 31, both from Augusta as well.

Police say evidence inside led them to charge Coogan.

He had multiple outstanding warrants and was also charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and violating conditions of release.

Fowler was charged with receiving stolen property.

She also had an outstanding warrant and probation hold.

The four are being held at the Kennebec County Jail.
