Milder Today, Showers & Mild Thursday

From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

We’ll see some sunshine today however, more clouds will start to move into the area during the day as high pressure continues to slide to our east and low pressure approaches from the Great Lakes. Southerly winds will continue to bring milder air back into the area with highs topping off in the mid-40s to mid-50s this afternoon. Skies will turn cloudy tonight and we’ll see showers arriving after midnight as a cold front pushes towards New England. Showers out ahead of the front will start moving in after midnight tonight. With the clouds and milder air in place, expect a mild night with lows bottoming out in the 40s.

Low pressure will pull a cold front through the state on Thursday bringing us a round of showers especially during the morning and early afternoon. As the front moves east of the state during the afternoon, the showers will end from west to east. Drier air moving in behind the front may allow for some breaks in the clouds before sunset. The area of low pressure will also pull milder air northward with temperatures on Thursday reaching near 60° in some locales. Drier and cooler weather will return for the end of the week. Temperatures will be back to the 30s and 40s for Friday and Saturday.

Rest of Today: partly to mostly sunny. Seasonable with highs between 47°-54°. Light winds will become south wind 5-10 MPH.

Tonight: becoming cloudy. Showers developing after midnight. Mild with lows between 41°-48°. South wind 7-12 MPH.

Thursday: mostly cloudy with showers likely especially during the morning and early afternoon. Sunny breaks possible during the afternoon. Mild with highs between 48°-58°. Winds will become northwest 5-10 MPH.

Friday: variably cloudy, most clouds north. Breezy and cooler. Highs in the mid-30s to mid-40s.

Saturday: sunny and chilly. Highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s.

Sunday: mostly cloudy with mixed rain/snow showers possible north and rain showers possible elsewhere. Highs near 40° north, 40s to near 50° elsewhere.
