There was a mock disaster on the University of Maine campus in Orono on Tuesday.
It was a simulated chemical spill that brought together local, county, and national emergency responders.
National Guard troops from New York and New Hampshire were also there.
Organizers say it’s important to see how emergency responders react, and interact.
“Sometimes we talk different languages, and that’s one of the critical things that we’re discussing, and practicing, today, to make sure the military folks, and the civilian folks can talk the same language. They did a great job of that today,” said Wayne Maines, Director of Safety and Environmental Management at Umaine.
The emergency drill will continue on campus Wednesday.
