From the TV 5 Forecast Center:
A cold front will cross the state early this afternoon. The front will be accompanied by a line of heavy showers and gusty, possibly damaging winds. South/southwesterly winds could gust to 40-50 MPH inland and 50-60 MPH along the coast as the front moves through. Drier air moving in behind the cold front may allow for breaks in the clouds to develop mid-late afternoon. We have a dry night ahead tonight with skies turning clear to partly cloudy. Temperatures will drop to the 40s in most spots for nighttime lows.
A second cold front will move through the state on Saturday giving us variably cloudy skies and a slight chance for an afternoon shower. High temperatures on Saturday will be cooler than today but still above average for this time of year with highs reaching the 50s to near 60°. Much cooler air will move in behind that second cold front for Sunday with temperatures expected to only be in the 30s and 40s on Sunday. We may see a few rain or mixed rain/snow showers to start the day Sunday as low pressure and the associated cold front move to our east. Strong high pressure will build in and give us a nice quiet stretch of weather for the early-middle part of next week.
Rest of Today: mostly cloudy with showers likely especially early-mid afternoon. Some breaks in the clouds possible later in the afternoon. Mild with highs between 60°-69°. Gusty south/southwest wind 15-25 MPH with gusts to 40-50 MPH inland and 50-60 MPH along the coast possible.
Tonight: clear to partly cloudy. Lows between 39°-48°. Southwest wind 5-10 MPH.
Saturday: variably cloudy with an afternoon shower possible. Cooler with highs between 50°-60°. West wind 5-10 MPH becoming northwest.
*** DON’T FORGET TO TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK 1 HOUR AT 2AM SUNDAY MORNING. ***
Sunday: morning clouds and a few rain or mixed rain/snow showers possible then brightening skies during the afternoon. Much cooler with highs in the mid-30s to low 40s.
Monday and Tuesday: sunny and chilly with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.
