A Belfast man charged with the murder of a woman and the attempted murder of her son pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Todd Gilday, 44, entered that plea in a Belfast courtroom on Wednesday.

The judge ordered Gilday to undergo a psychological evaluation.

Police say in August Gilday forced his way into a house on route 137 in Belfast, killed 55-year-old Lynn Arsenault and wounded her son, 22-year-old Matthew Day.

Arsenault died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
