A man from Hancock County accused of beating his dog has been found not guilty.
A judge in Ellsworth cleared Jeremy Fowler earlier this month of a cruelty to animal charge.
In April, Fowler had just finished a paint job off Route 1 in Hancock when his dog got into the paint.
He tells TV5 he was cleaning the dog’s paws and a passing driver saw his arms quickly moving up and down.
The driver stopped, thinking Fowler was beating the dog.
Fowler says the dog is deaf and he communicates with it using large hand motions.
