From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

The ridge of high pressure that brought the fair and cool conditions to our region today will continue to control the weather here tomorrow. A weak disturbance aloft sliding east from the Great Lakes Region will bring a few clouds to Maine late tonight and early tomorrow but little if any precipitation will occur with the troughs passage. Temps tonight will once again fall into the 20s statewide, with highs on Wednesday reaching up into the 40s.

The high will move east of Maine on Halloween and a storm will ride up into the Great lakes Region at the same time. The combination of the high to our east and a storm lifting through the Great Lakes will bring an increasing southerly breeze to Maine which will cause the temps here to warm to above normal levels. A warm front associated will the storm riding up to our west will bring increasing clouds and possibly a few showers to our region later in the day Thursday. If the trick or treaters don’t get wet Thursday evening they will likely need the rain gear as they head to school on Friday. The combination of the storm passing to our north and its trailing cold front sliding into the Northeast will bring periods of rain to Maine Friday. Despite the lack of sunshine a strong southerly breeze will cause temps to run well above normal here as we begin the month of November on Friday. Highs Friday will range from the upper 50s north to the mid 60s south.

Another cold front will move through Maine Saturday, with another round of scattered showers likely. Behind the second cold front a cooler and more seasonable airmass will move into our region for the second half of the weekend and the beginning of the workweek.

Tonight: Mostly clear to partly cloudy and chilly, with low temps in the 20s.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with high temps in the 40s.

Halloween: Partly sunny then increasing clouds, with a few evening showers possible and high temps in the upper 40s to mid 50s.

Friday: Blustery and mild, with periods of showers and high temps in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Saturday: Variably cloudy, few scattered showers likely and high temps in the 50s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, breezy and cooler, with a brief rain or snow shower possible and high temps in the upper 30s north to 40s south.
