A new health clinic in Bangor was the center of a celebration Monday.
Penobscot Community Health Care hosted a ribbon cutting for the Capehart Community Health Center.
The facility on Davis Road was completely remodeled and opened in July.
Patients have been coming to the health center for about a decade.
But up until now, it was simply a four-unit apartment building that was reconfigured to make do.
Dr. Noah Nesin says the new place is much more pleasant, efficient and offers medical, dental and mental health care.
“With the way that we’re going in health care, having a modern, state-of-the-art facility really helps enhance the care that we can provide and sends a message to the community of people we serve regarding the esteem in which we hold them and the kind of services we really want to provide for them. ”
We’re told about 50 people worked to renovate the building.
The center is open Monday through Friday.
It’s staffed by two nurse practioners and a licensed clinical social worker.
