from the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:
As the cold front that brought the scattered rain and snow showers to Maine today sweeps offshore this evening the skies across our region will become mostly clear. High pressure currently centered just west of the Hudson Bay Region will build southeast and control the weather across New England both tomorrow and Wednesday. A northwest breeze on the eastside of the high will usher a chilly airmass into our area beginning later tonight and lasting through Wednesday. Low temps tonight will fall into the 20s all across the state, with even a few a few teens showing up over the deeper valleys well north of the Bangor region. Despite a good deal of sunshine tomorrow high temps in Maine will hold in the upper 30s across the far north to the 40s elsewhere in the state.
Plan on more fair and chilly conditions across Maine tomorrow night and Wednesday as the high works east across New England. Temps tomorrow night will once again fall into the 20s statewide, with highs on Wednesday reaching up into the 40s. As the high continues to moves east on Halloween and a storm rides up into the Great lakes region an increasing southerly breeze will develop across the Northeast and the temps will begin to warm back up. A warm front associated will the storm riding up to our west will bring increasing clouds and possibly a few showers to our region later in the day Thursday. If the trick or treaters don’t get wet Thursday evening they will likely need the rain gear as they head to school on Friday. The storms trailing cold front will cross New England later Friday afternoon or evening with another round of scattered showers. A southerly breeze ahead of the cold front will pull an unusually mild airmass into the Pine Tree State for the first day of November as high temps reach the upper 50s to lower 60s in our area.
