Emergency responders are ready for storm season in Brewer.

On Friday night, volunteers from the American Red Cross hosted a drill with help from local Boy Scouts.

They’re spending the night inside the Brewer Auditorium, learning ways to better serve the community during and after a disaster.

“So if we we weren’t holding this, we would not be ready for any situation,” said Alex Fageo, a Boy Scout.

Danielle Hardae, response manager for the American Red Cross, pondered the question, “Are they ready to respond? Have they taken care of their own home and have they prepared themselves so they can answer that call?”

When the drill ends early Saturday, volunteers will draft an after action review to see how they can better provide disaster relief.
