Remember the controversy over the Christmas tree in downtown Bar Harbor?
A man is using his restaurant to give his opinion and send veterans a message.
Vernon Baker owns Papa J’s in Belfast and had offered veterans a free steak all this week until he closes for the season tomorrow night.
The restaurant has done deals for vets in the past. This week they say they’ve had people donating money. Baker plans to give the money to a charity that helps veterans.
“Watched a couple of the reports and things and blood pressure kinda went up, got a little angry like a lot of people have I think over it and I just decided that I’d channel my emotions in a positive way,” Baker said.
Baker also says he still has plenty of steak to give away to veterans tonight and tomorrow.
