A former pharmacy technician from Winslow admitted Thursday to stealing prescription drugs from the Togus V.A. hospital in Augusta.
61-year-old Rebecca Hamlin appeared in federal court in Bangor, charged with theft of government property.
Court documents says Hamlin was working at Togus in January when a co-worker spotted her putting an empty pharmacy bottle in her purse.
A supervisor later notice pills from the V.A . in a bag under Hamlin’s desk.
Authorities say Hamlin confessed to the crime.
Hamlin faces a year in prison and a $100,000 fine.
She’s out on $5,000 bail until her sentencing.
