Fairfield Police are asking for the public’s help finding a hit and run driver they say totaled a vehicle right in front of an officer then took off.

It happened around 10:00 Friday night at the corner of the Old Norridgewock Road and the Old Schoolhouse Road in Fairfield.

Fairfield Police Chief Thomas Gould says a person in a dark colored ford F-150 was driving aggressively when it crashed into a Ford Mustang.

When the officer went to check on the Mustang’s driver, the truck took off.

If you have information on a dark colored Ford F-150, which Gould says should have extensive front-end damage, you’re urged to call the Fairfield Police at 453-9321.
