WESTBROOK, Maine (AP) — Westbrook police say they have arrested a local man responsible for a series of night-time burglaries at a mobile home park.
Police allege 22-year-old Robert Paul Auger has broken into several homes at the Hamlet Mobile Home Park while residents slept.
In one case, a resident awoke to find a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt in the home. The burglar ran away.
Auger was apprehended at about 3 a.m. Saturday after a woman woken by a barking dog called police. Officers caught Auger trying to flee the park.
Auger was detained Sunday night on $2,060 bail at the Cumberland County Jail on charges of burglary and theft, and several outstanding warrants. It was not known if he has a lawyer.
