It’s homecoming weekend at the University of Maine in Orono, but one tradition has been canceled.
Because of renovations taking place at the Field House the annual craft fair will not be held this year.
It would have been the 40th anniversary of the fair.
Organizers say it will return next year, bigger and better.
“It’s not going away, we’re just trying to make it a lot better with the renovations of the Field House. The vendors will see more lighting, they’ll see light, white coloring inside. It will let them display what they do in a much better light. So, we’re excited, even though we had to cancel it,” said Khristine Corro, director on alumni programs.
Organizers say they’ll still do their silent auction.
You can bid on items like a custom UMaine hockey chair, made from old and broken hockey sticks.
