From the TV 5 Forecast Center:
The cold front that brought us some showers this morning will move to our east this afternoon. Any lingering showers over eastern parts of the state will end early this afternoon with the trend towards brightening skies as the afternoon wears on. Temperatures will be milder this afternoon with highs in the 60s to near 70°. The front will stall just offshore and a new storm to our south will ride northward along the stalled front, approaching New England tonight. We’ll start the night dry with clear to partly cloudy skies followed by increasing clouds as the storm approaches. As the storm nears, rain will move into the state after midnight.
Low pressure will pass through the Gulf of Maine on Friday. This storm will likely bring us a round of rain during the early to mid-morning hours then the storm is expected to move to our east later in the morning allowing things to dry out and brighten up for the afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will build in to bring us sunshine for the start of the weekend. We could see some showers Saturday night and Sunday morning as a cold front approaches from the west. Once the front moves through, cooler weather will move into the area with some spots only in the 40s for highs on Monday.
