Updated 1 year ago

Acadia National Park reopened early Thursday morning.

It happened after President Obama signed a bipartisan deal in the wee hours of Thursday morning to end the government shutdown.

Acadia Chief Ranger Stuart West says, rangers and maintenance staff began unlocking the gates early Thursday morning to ensure visitor safety.

They add by late Thursday morning, all gates and most facilities will once again be open to tourists.
