Members of the Cherryfield Fire Department live to scare the brave souls that attend their Haunted Hayride.

“We’ve been doing it now since 2010. Actually, we’d done it previous to that, but we had a bit of a lapse for a few years and brought back in 2010. Some people walk through and it doesn’t phase them. Other people, they scream from the time they get off the trailer to the time they get back on,” said Charles Curtis.

This frightening event is their big fundraiser for the year. They’re also donating some proceeds to the Shriner’s Hospital in Boston.

“We like to do something this time of year for some entertainment, and it’s a great fundraiser for our department,” said Curtis.

They say no matter how far you come for this frightening experience, it will be worth the trip.

“If you’re into being spooked or scared, come see us. I’ll guarantee we’ll give you a good time,” said Curtis.

The hayride and cabin tour is this Friday, October 18th, and Saturday, October 19th, from 6pm to 10pm.

Just head a few miles down Route 193 until you see the sign at Blueberry Circle.

Tickets are $7 and $4 for 12 and under.

VIP tickets are $12 and $8 for 12 and under.
