Variably Cloudy & Cooler Saturday

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

The fair and pleasant weather pattern across Maine shows little signs of breaking down over the next several days. High pressure both at the surface and aloft will remain located over New England the next several days and that will keep the storm currently bringing wind and rain to much of the Mid-Atlantic well south of our region.

A weak backdoor cold front will slip south through New England early today. The front will produce a bit more cloud cover here as it works south through our region today. A northeast wind behind the front will bring somewhat cooler air into our region for the beginning of the weekend as highs on Saturday hold in the mid 50s to mid 60s.

High pressure to our north will produce generally fair skies across Maine Sunday and Monday along will slowly warming temperatures. A cold front approaching New England from the west Tuesday will weaken as it moves through our area and just a few widely scattered showers will likely fall with the passage of the front. A stronger front will bring a better shot of showers to our region late in the workweek.

Today: Some early clouds then partly sunny and cooler, with high temps in the mid 50s to mid 60s.

Tonight: Partly to mostly clear, with low temps in the mid 30s to mid 40s.

Sunday: More sun than clouds, with high temps in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Monday: Partly sunny, with high temps in the 60s.

Tuesday: Variably cloudy, with high temps in the 60s.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy, few widely scattered showers possible and high temps in the upper 50s to mid 60s.
