From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

The cold front that brought us the wet and windy weather last night continues to move away from the state. Skies will average partly to mostly sunny for the rest of the day with the bulk of the clouds lingering in the mountains and more sunshine elsewhere. Slightly cooler air moving in behind the front will give us seasonable temperatures with highs in the mid-50s to low 60s for most spots this afternoon. Winds have remained a bit stronger than expected too so I’ve increased the winds to 10-20 MPH with gusts to 25-30 MPH possible through the afternoon. The winds will diminish as we get closer to sunset. Clear skies and light winds will make for a chilly night tonight with nighttime lows expected to drop to the 30s to around 40°.

Strong high pressure centered over the Ohio Valley this morning is forecast to build in and dominate our forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. The high will be right overhead on Wednesday giving us plenty of sunshine and temperatures near or a little above 60°. On Thursday the area of high pressure will slide to our east which will bring some milder air back into the region with temperatures going back above average Thursday afternoon as highs top off in the 60s to near 70°. Friday will be another sunny and mild day with temperatures in the 60s to near 70°. There will be an ocean storm passing south of New England on Friday and the northern edge of the storm’s clouds may graze southern and coastal Maine with a little high cloudiness otherwise sunshine is expected to prevail for the end of the work week.

Strong area of high pressure over northern Quebec will build southward towards New England this weekend bringing us sunny and cooler weather for the Columbus Day weekend. This will keep the great stretch of weather going into early next week. Temperatures over the holiday weekend look like they will be in the mid-50s to mid-60s from north to south.

Rest of Today: partly to mostly sunny. Highs between 55°-65°. Gusty northwest wind 10-20 MPH with gusts to 25-30 MPH possible.

Wednesday: lots of sunshine. Highs between 59°-64°. Light and variable wind.

Thursday: mostly sunny. A bit milder with highs in the 60s to near 70°.

Friday: partly to mostly sunny with most of the clouds over southern and coastal areas. Highs in  60s to around 70°.
