From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

We have a bit of an unsettled start to our work week as a warm front moves into the state today followed by a cold front crossing the region tonight. With the warm front moving in today, we’ll see mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers possible throughout the day. Temperatures will be near or a little bit above average with highs reaching the low to mid-60s this afternoon. With low pressure approaching from the west and strong high pressure to our east, plan on a breezy day today with south/southeasterly winds increasing to 10-20 MPH in most locales this afternoon. Steadier showers will move through during the night tonight as a cold front crosses the state. The showers will be most numerous from about 8pm to 2am. After 2am, the showers will wind down from west to east across the state followed by partial clearing as well.

The aforementioned cold front will move away from the state on Tuesday. We may see a few showers lingering over eastern areas to start the day Tuesday otherwise look for clearing skies during the early-mid morning hours with plenty of sunshine expected by late morning through the afternoon. Slightly cooler air moving in behind the front will give us high temperatures in the mid-50s to low 60s Tuesday afternoon. Strong high pressure is forecast to build in and dominate our forecast for Wednesday through the upcoming weekend. That being said, we’ll see lots of sunshine in our forecast for Wednesday through Sunday. There may be a few clouds over southern and coastal areas Thursday and Friday as a result of some moisture moving just south of us associated with weak low pressure off the Mid-Atlantic coast.

Rest of Today: mostly cloudy and breezy. Scattered showers. Highs between 62°-67°. Southeast wind increasing to 10-20 MPH.

Tonight: showers likely. Showers will taper off from west to east after midnight followed by partial clearing late. Lows between 48°-53°. Winds will become west 5-15 MPH.

Tuesday: an early shower possible over eastern areas otherwise becoming mostly sunny. Breezy and cooler. Highs between 54°-64°. Northwest wind 10-15 MPH.

Wednesday: mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Thursday & Friday: mostly sunny with a few clouds over southern and coastal areas. Highs in the 60s.
