A $15,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the location of Geraldine Largay.
Largay, 66, was last seen hiking the Appalachian Trail outside of Rangely.
Wardens say Largay was supposed to meet her husband on July 23rd in Wyman Township at the Route 27 intersection. Largay never showed up for that meeting.
Wardens searched for Largay several times and never found any clues about where she might be. The next phase of searching will not happen until the leaves have fallen from the trees, according to the warden service.
Largay was last seen wearing a reddish colored pullover shirt, tan shorts, a blue hat, and a black and green backpack. Her trail name is “inchworm”. Largay is an experienced hiker.
Wardens say they do know Largay stayed at Poplar Ridge Lean-To on Sunday, July 21st.
Anyone who saw Largay between July 21 and July 23rd or has any information about where she is, should call the Maine Warden Service at 207-624-7076.
